2012 Winners

2012 IFAJ Photo Contest

The overall winner in this year’s IFAJ Star Prize for photo excellence, sponsored by DeLaval, is Cliff Donaldson of Northern Ireland. He won this distinction, as well as the competition’s production category, for his photo “Spring lamb.”

This year’s competition drew 81 entries: 29 in the people category, 29 in the production category and 23 in the nature category, from across the IFAJ membership.

These are this year’s winners:    

People

Distinguished recognition: John Eveson (Great Britain), “Young handler’s competition”

Nature/Landscape

Winner: Evan Morgan (Australia), “Ghost muster”  

Distinguished recognition: Cliff Donaldson (Northern Ireland), “Feeding time”

Production

Winner: Cliff Donaldson (Northern Ireland), “Spring lamb”

Distinguished recognition: Hans Dahlgren (Sweden), “Derocking field”

The awards were presented at the 2012 International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) Congress in Stockholm, Sweden.

Judges for this year’s competition were Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Mary Chind of the USA, past overall winner of the IFAJ photo competition Andries Gouwas of South Africa, and Swedish photographer Ann Linden.
