At the master class in Aberdeen Aly Balsom, a freelance agricultural journalist that runs her own business, Aly Balsom Media, provided insights on social media in agriculture, including a breakdown of how different social media platforms are best used in the UK. mehr »

The overall winner in this year’s IFAJ Star Prize for photo excellence, sponsored by DeLaval, is Cliff Donaldson of Northern Ireland. He won this distinction, as well as the competition’s nature-landscape category, for his photo “Mountain Farm.” mehr »

Josef Sedlak of Slovakia is this year’s winner of the IFAJ Star Prize for print journalism. The award was announced at the 2014 International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) congress in Scotland. Sedlak’s article ”Food does not come from supermarket shelves” was published in Pravda – Slovak daily. Ruben van Boekel from the Netherlands, received second prize for the story “Largest pig farmer wants nothing more than peace and quiet”. It was published in Pig Business.  mehr »
