2010 IFAJ Photo Contest

JOHN EVESON from England won the Star Prize for Agricultural Photography
at the 2010 International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ)
Congress held in Ostend, Belgium, April 17-21.

His winning picture, entitled Sheep Dog vs Sheep, also won the production category. Australia’s Nigel Hallett, Victoria won the people category with his Hot November picture, and Austria’s Hans-Peter Zwicklhuber, Kremsmünster, won the nature/landscape category with his Maize Power picture.
The winners of each category received a cash prize of 250 Euros. The overall winner received a trophy, cash prize of 500 Euros and an IFAJ pin. The winners also received certificates from contest sponsor DeLaval, presented by representative Temis Tormo.

John Eveson’s winning from the Skipton sheep dog sale was used in the
Farmers Guardian in January, 2009. The difficult to obtain action picture is Eveson’s 11th to figure in the long-running annual IFAJ awards.

Eveson also figured among three highly commended entrants this year, along with Mark Griffin of The Herald and Weekly Times, Victoria, Australia, and New Zealander Aaron Smale.
