IFAJ sponsorship and finance committee report Jan. 14, 2006 Berlin The sponsorship committee is co-chaired by Marcus Rediger (finance) and David Markey (sponsorship). There was much discussion regarding the new 3 year sponsorship by Alltech to fund young journalists attending future IFAJ congresses. It was felt that we should use the sponsorship to target journalists from Eastern Europe; however this proposal was put to the floor at the executive meeting and the decision was to leave the program open to all countries. We also discussed increasing the prize money for both the star prize and the photo contest as we had commitments from DeLaval and John Deere to support these awards for a further 3 years. Hans Matthiesen is developing contacts with Claas, Fendt, BASF and Suedzucker and expects some positive news in the coming months. It was also agreed to work closely with the communications committee to develop a marketing budget for the organization moving forward. TOP
