IFAJ Treasurer's report - Jan. 14, 2006 Berlin With the 2005 congress in his country and the task as treasurer of IFAJ, Markus Rediger ( Switzerland ) had a busy year on behalf of the organization. At the meeting in Berlin he handed out the current accounts for IFAJ and noted that the 2005 accounts are in good shape and will yield a surplus, but are not finalized yet. He also explained the procedures for transferring funds to and from IFAJ. Looking at the annual accounts, he explained that the surplus will help fund new projects for members, contact new member states and make the organization less dependent on corporate sponsorships. Markus will prepare the final report and present it with the completed 2006 budget at the delegate assembly in Norway in August. He urged the execs to pay press cards and membership fees promptly. For this year in which IFAJ celebrates its 50 anniversary, the organization will create a sponsored anniversary DVD that should be unveiled at the Norway Congress. The IFAJ will use some reserves to finance 50th anniversary projects this year. A committee chaired by President David Markey will prepare the anniversary activities. TOP
