The chanel, which connects the Northsea and Baltic Sea goes straight through 50 miles of fields in Schleswig Holstein, Northern Germany. Farmers don’t have to pay for the ferries. The cargo ships have the greatest benefit: the chanel shortens the passage from sea to sea by 280 seamiles.
