High Expectations, High Elevations: Exploring Swiss Agriculture at IFAJ 2024

The IFAJ Congress 2024 will be held in Interlaken, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, from August 14 to 18. We invite all agricultural journalists to join us to learn about Swiss agriculture and society’s expectations of farmers.

The motto of the Congress is “High Expectations, High Elevations”. Switzerland is a small country, urban and rural people are geographically close. This also leads to high expectations of the urban population towards agriculture: High quality products, many demands on ecology and all this with the highest animal welfare standards.

At the Congress, we will learn how Swiss agriculture–from modern vegetable farms to traditional alpine farming–deals with these expectations and how it has developed in recent years.

The congress venue in Interlaken is located in the Bernese Oberland, surrounded by the Swiss Alps. Interlaken is a hotspot for Swiss tourism and Congress participants will also have the opportunity to get to know the tourist side of Switzerland: we are planning an excursion to the Jungfraujoch at an altitude of almost 3500 meters.

We are looking forward to your participation. You can find all the info at www.ifaj2024.ch.
