The new Global Foundation for Agricultural Journalism (GFAJ) is seeking nominees for its board of trustees. Seven of the 11 trustees will be members of IFAJ member guilds.

New Foundation
GFAJ promotes the use and effectiveness of agricultural journalism and communications as a valuable tool for improving agricultural development. GFAJ provides education, assistance, training, support and practical advice throughout the world. It will help grow and improve the dissemination of information to farmers, traders, policy makers and other stakeholders worldwide.
Inspired by the work of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) over the last six decades, GFAJ creates new opportunities for agricultural journalists and communicators to collaborate with colleagues, companies, NGOs and government entities to help strengthen the skills and networks that keep crucial information flowing to and from the agriculture sector.
Board Structure
GFAJ has 11 trustees:
- Seven trustees elected from IFAJ’s member guilds
- Three elected trustees who do not hold IFAJ membership
- The IFAJ Treasurer is automatically a GFAJ trustee
“GFAJ is, at this stage, an open book of blank pages, waiting to be written,” said Adrian Bell, IFAJ treasurer. “The charity’s first trustees will need to be committed to shaping GFAJ’s direction, activities and initial relationships with its partners, donors and beneficiaries. You’ll have a real sense of making a difference, working to further GFAJ’s charitable causes, and benefiting from new experiences and relationships.”
