IFAJ Annual Congress 2025 in Kenya

The Media for Environment, Science, Health, and Agriculture (MESHA) is in full gear preparing to host the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) Congress in October next year in Nairobi, Kenya.

As the congress approaches, MESHA is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a successful and impactful event that will bring together journalists, media professionals, scientists, and industry leaders from around the world in Nairobi.

“Preparations for the congress are progressing smoothly. MESHA has already established various committees to manage logistics, communications, and partnerships. We are working tirelessly to secure top-notch venues, streamline operations, and develop an engaging lineup of sessions and activities that address the unique challenges and opportunities in Kenya’s agricultural sector,” said MESHA CEO, Aghan Daniel.

MESHA is also reaching out to potential partners, sponsors, and stakeholders who share a commitment to advancing Kenya’s agricultural sector. Through strategic collaborations, the organization aims to bring a wide range of voices to the congress, ensuring discussions are not only relevant but also impactful.

According to Aghan, a key focus area for MESHA is highlighting the intersection of agriculture, science, and climate change. The congress will serve as a platform for sharing innovative approaches and fostering collaborations that can address pressing agricultural issues, from food security to sustainable farming practices.

“The congress will focus on critical themes like sustainability, innovation, and food security. It will not only highlight the challenges faced by Kenyan farmers but also celebrate the successes and innovations emerging from the country.”

Kenya has firmly positioned itself as a leader in agriculture, both within Africa and globally. As a cornerstone of the nation’s economy, agriculture plays a pivotal role, contributing significantly to the GDP and providing livelihoods for millions of Kenyans.

The country’s agricultural landscape is diverse, ranging from vast tea and coffee plantations to smallholder farms cultivating essential crops such as maize, beans, and horticultural produce.
