The code sets out the standards for personal and professional behavior within IFAJ. It started with a call from a member, who felt harassed at an earlier congress. The overall aim is to ensure a collegial, respectful and harassment‐free experience for everyone who attends an IFAJ event. Violation of the code might lead to anything from a verbal warning to a ban from taking part in future IFAJ events.
The work with the Code of Conduct has been done mainly by a committee consisting of Jane Craigie, UK, Allison Hoyt Finnamore, Canada, General Secretary Steve Werblow, USA, Vice President Lena Johansson, Sweden, and former Global Coordinator Johnnie Belinda Cluff.
Alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct may be reported to the organizing team at an IFAJ event or an IFAJ‐endorsed event. The can also be reported to the liaison officers, via e-mail (report@ifaj.org) or through the anonymous submission form on IFAJ website.
The three liaison officers who have been named are Jane Craigie, Morten Günther and Lena Johansson.
