The dates for IFAJ’s virtual e-Congress—including the Delegate Assembly—have been moved to August 23-25, 2021. Monday, August 23 will feature a professional development program. Tuesday, August 24 will focus on the Delegate Assembly. And Wednesday, August 25 will highlight the Star Prize Award ceremony and a Salute to Denmark, host of the 2022 World Congress.
The change in schedule allows members to cover the Alltech ONE Conference, which was rescheduled for the same week as Congress, and also raises the possibility that IFAJ’s application to the UK government to establish a charitable foundation would be complete by the meeting.
“We appreciate the flexibility and patience of our members, and we are confident that the virtual Congress will be worth the wait,” said IFAJ president Lena Johansson. “Although Alltech did not ask us to move our meeting, we want our members to be able to gather stories as well as participate in IFAJ, and this year’s virtual format allows us to be more flexible than usual. Our hope is that the change in schedule will allow our e-Congress and Delegate Assembly to be even more productive and informative.
“This was surely not what we had planned for, but the past year has taught us to deal with changes, and appreciate the chance to be together whenever we can make it happen,” she added.
