New Format for IFAJ Star Prize Program Permits Individual Entries

A new format for the IFAJ Star Prize will permit individuals to enter articles, broadcasts, podcasts, multimedia reporting, and photos in the next contest. Entries will be due in March 2024 and prizes will be awarded at the IFAJ World Congress in Interlaken, Switzerland in August.

“The new IFAJ Star Prize contest will permit greater participation by encouraging individual members to enter their own work,” says IFAJ Secretary-General Addy Rossi. “The new approach will also feature categories such as Innovation, Sustainability, Technology, Trade and Economics, and Rural Culture, and encourage judges to compare various approaches to reporting on these topics—an exciting way to view the cross-platform nature of modern agricultural journalism.”

IFAJ is currently seeking sponsors for the contest, which would permit the presentation of cash prizes to category winners, as well as a new grand prize for Journalist of the Year.

Rules and categories will be posted soon on the IFAJ.org website. In the meantime, mark your calendars for a March 10, 2024 entry deadline!
