Verónica Díaz – Chile

Agricultura 4×4

“Radio Agricultura is a national FM radio, with repeater stations in most of the country’s regions. It has been linked to the multi-union of farmers for more than 80 years. Every day, more than a million people listen to it over the air (according to IPSOS studies) and more than 200,000 through the web. For 8 years, Radio Agricultura has had the radio program El Agro, where Verónica Díaz, an active member of the Association of Agrifood Journalists, has been its editor and host for the last 5 years. It is the only radio program, with national coverage, dedicated to agricultural activity. Celagro (Compañía Eficiencia Labores Agrícolas), introduces in Chile what today is a reality in countries such as the United States and New Zealand: the 4 x 4 motorcycles in the work of the land, achieving significant savings in mechanization, greater efficiency and effectiveness in productive tasks, and facilitating processes as important as the application of phytosanitary products. Patricio Middleton, its creator, talks about the 400 agricultural tasks performed by the motorcycles, their lower cost and greater speed than the tractor. www.celagro.cl

In a pleasant, entertaining and quick conversation, the journalist manages the interview in two blocks: the first, focused on how Celagro was born (from the wine industry to agricultural work), what inspired its creator, and what are the advantages of the motorcycles in the field. The second, oriented to training and teaching workers to be more efficient. The final objective was to reach the field owners, the producers, providing all the background information. And it was achieved: auditors called to ask for contact and more background on the subject.”
