When PCBs Turn Up in Meat
PCBs are industrial chemical compounds widely used up until the 1980s. Wherever these carcinogenic substances turn up these days – for instance on a barn wall or in veal meat –, they require decontamination or disposal. However, it is not clear who should take responsibility for this inherited PCB contamination or bear the cost of remediation. The article takes a look at the current situation and shows how the problem is being dealt with.
