IFAJ Study Tour to Georgia 2026

The Georgian Association of Agricultural Journalists (AGAJ), with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the National Gastronomy Agency, invites IFAJ members to apply for a five-day professional study tour exploring Georgia’s dynamic agricultural and food sector.

Approximately 10 agricultural and gastronomy journalists from around the world will have the opportunity to experience Georgia’s agriculture firsthand — from traditional farming systems and centuries-old food traditions to modern commercial agriculture, agri-food innovation, gastronomy, and rural development.

Throughout the tour, participants will meet farmers, agribusiness leaders, researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives, gaining insight into the opportunities and challenges shaping Georgian agriculture today.

It will also be a unique opportunity to experience the country’s renowned hospitality, culinary traditions, rural landscapes, and rich agricultural heritage.

Participants are responsible for:

  • International airfare to and from Georgia
  • Personal expenses
  • Travel insurance

Applicants must:

  • Be active agricultural and/or gastronomy journalists
  • Be members in good standing of an IFAJ-affiliated guild or association
  • Commit to producing professional journalistic coverage related to the study tour
