Judges secured for IFAJ-Yara Award for Reporting on Sustainable World Agriculture

Dr Henning Otte Hansen of Denmark will be joined by Cathy Reade from Australia, and three US experts, in judging the new IFAJ-Yara Award for Reporting on Sustainable World Agriculture.

Cathy Reade is the public relations coordinator for the benevolent Crawford Fund, which is dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits to developing countries and to Australia of international agricultural research. As part of its brief, it supports tours for journalists from developed countries to meet farmers in underdeveloped countries.
IFAJ secretary general Owen Roberts will also secure the services of three US experts (two academics and a communications specialist) from the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University, renowned for sustainable marketing, policy and ecology. The independent judging panel is led by distinguished professor Henning Otte Hansen, senior adviser at the Institute of Food and Resource Economics, University of Copenhagen.
The IFAJ Award for Reporting on Sustainable World Agriculture is open to articles, internet productions or radio/TV broadcasts until June 15, 2011. See the Contests and Awards section for details.
