Registration opens for 2009 IFAJ Congress

The U.S. group attending the IFAJ congress in Austria and Slovenia last year was asked over and over when they could start registering for the Fort Worth meeting to be held from July 31 through Aug. 4. The answer is now.

Registration information for the joint IFAJ and Agricultural Media Summit (AMS) meeting is up and running at www.ifaj2009.com.
This will be the first time ever that AMS will host IFAJ and we’re hoping for a terrific turnout. Interest level from IFAJ members is strong and we’re expecting more than 200 foreign guests to join us this year.
Please remember the IFAJ group will meet first. Then they will join in the professional development sessions of the regular AMS meeting. Both groups will keep their separate identities, but share the wonderful programming that’s been a hallmark of past AMS meetings.
By the way, when you see AAEA and LPC, that stands for the two agricultural associations (or guilds) in the U.S. that form AMS – the American Agricultural Editors’ Association (AAEA) and the Livestock Publications Council (LPC).
We expect another blockbuster program along with special events at this unique meeting. The rubber is hitting the road on all these plans and you can see details of speakers, workshops, tours and award ceremonies already posted on the www.ifaj2009.com site.
Cost for the combined IFAJ meeting, which includes accommodation, will be US$ 1,500 for a single room and US$ 1,100 for a double room. A note to foreign visitors – hotel rooms in Fort Worth are large and can easily handle two people.
On behalf of everyone who’s helped plan for this unique event, we welcome all IFAJ members to what we hope will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Also, once you register, you’ll be assigned a “buddy” from the U.S. that will help answer questions and even meet you in Fort Worth.
So don’t delay, sign up now at www.ifaj2009.com and get ready to ‘Saddle Up and Catch The Cowboy Spirit’.
