Argentina is hosting the IFAJ Congress in the year 2013. This is a significant event, because the congress is the first IFAJ Congress ever held in South America, says IFAJ President Mike Wilson.
The Argentinian Guild has already begun to plan the event. President of Circulo Argentino de Periodistas Agrarios (CAPA) Carlos Curci Gonzales assures that his team is both anxious and well prepared to host agricultural journalists from all over the world and they have a lot to show.
“There will be a lot of organizing, fund-raising, planning and other work involved to ensure the success of the congress. The IFAJ is confident that CAPA can handle this commitment and provide our global organization with a first-class Congress experience,” says Wilson.
“It is also our hope that the holding of this Congress in Argentina will help spread the values and benefits of IFAJ to many more ag journalists in South America.”
The Congress is the main annual event for IFAJ members to gather, network, and learn about agricultural issues in the host country. The next Congress will be held April 17-22, 2010 in Belgium. For more information on future Congress dates, go to www.www.ifaj.org and click on events.
