MORE than 30 IFAJ members have already applied to take part in a discovery tour of Serbian agriculture in May.
The opportunity to travel and learn about rural life in the Balkan country is organised by Agropress, the Serbian Association of Agricultural Journalists.
From May 18 to 23, the tour will include the 78th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, one of the largest events of its kind in Eastern Europe, plus visits to many Serbian farms.
The language of communication during the tour will be English, with assistance in Spanish, German and Japanese.
The tour cost is 200 euro, plus travel expenses to and from Serbia, and other personal expenses. Open skies agreements have reduced flying costs, for example to 100 euro within much of Europe, according to Goran Djakovic, President of the Board of Directors of Agropress.
You can check out details on the www.agropress.org website. Applications to take part in Balkan Tour 2011 close on March 1.
