Brazilian agricultural journalists are pleased to announce that on Friday, February 21, in São Paulo, the “Rede Brasil de Jornalistas Agro” (a Brazilian group of agribusiness journalists) was founded.
The group estimates there are about 600 professionals journalists in Brazil. The group will be led by Viviane Taguchi, Renata Eschiletti and Mariele Previdi for one year. And there will be coordinators in all the regions of Brazil. As of now, Ana Lúcia Achutti and Nelson Moreira will serve in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina; Ariosto Mesquista in Mato Grosso do Sul; Rosemiltom Silva in Rio Grande do Norte and Edison Lemmos in Paraná. Additional coordinaters will be elected in the upcoming months.
The main reason the group was formed is to exchange experiences, form relationships and work for ethics in agriculture journalism. The group will also collaborate with the Red Calc (Red de Agrocomunicadores de LatinoAmerica Y Caribe) and the IFAJ.
