It’s the second largest land mass in the world, with six official time zones — so you’d better start organising your visit to Canada now, for the IFAJ congress in September, 2011.
For a start, click here to read the congress committee’s first newsletter. This monthly e-publication will stimulate and prepare you for the trip of a lifetime, about a year from now.
The October newsletter will contain the registration details, the organisers plan to begin accepting registrations next January.
Canada is a great country to visit, but especially for agricultural journalists, because it is a leader in agriculture and food, with unique features such as its local food movement, and the supply management system for the dairy and poultry industries.
Canada has 327,000 farmers, but Ontario – the host province for IFAJ 2011 – offers visitors a taste of just about everything in the country’s agri-food mix.
For those who plan to travel further, pre-congress and post-congress tours are part of IFAJ 2011.
