NAIROBI, Kenya (October 18, 2025)— Linda Grimstedt of Sweden was recognized by the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) with its Star Prize for Innovation, the organization’s honor for the best reporting on the theme of Innovation in its worldwide competition.
Grimstedt is a member of the The Association for Forestry and Agicultural Journalists (FSLJ). The award was announced at IFAJ’s World Congress in Nairobi, Kenya, on October 18.
Grimestedt’s article, “Progressive Parlor: A New Era of Automation in Dairy Farming”, appeared in Husdjur. Judges noted that “…this is a strong example of agricultural journalism, blending technical depth with human perspective. It provides a valuable blueprint for farms considering automation and is both informative and engaging.”
“The introduction is perfect. Linda immediately grounds the reader with necessary information — ‘who, what, when, where, why?’ The contextual background is really helpful, and the transition is seamless,” notes Adrian Bell, IFAJ secretary-general.
Trevor Bacque of GrainsWest in Canada, and Karen Davidson of The Grower in Canada, received a runner-up recognition in the Innovation category for “Short Lines Long on Value” and “Artificial intelligence eyes auto-labour”.
Judges of the Innovation category of the Star Prize were Andy Castillo of the United States of and Hansjürg Jaeger of Switzerland.
