NAIROBI, Kenya (October 18, 2025)—Rahab Watari of Kenya was recognized by the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) with its Star Prize for Video, the organization’s honor for the best video in its worldwide competition.
Courtney is a member of the Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture. The award was announced at IFAJ’s World Congress in Nairobi, Kenya, on October 18.
Watari’s video, “Agroecology revolution in Kenya”, inspired the judges to say: “A powerful document that addresses the challenges of food security and the power of agroecology to build a sustainable food system.”
“The IFAJ Star Prize recognizes the best agricultural journalism in the world,” notes Adrian Bell, IFAJ secretary-general. “Rahab’s exceptional video demonstrates just how to deploy technical excellence to share the changes ongoing in agriculture around the world.”
Philippa Courtney of Landline, ABC Televison in Australia received a runner-up honor in the Video category for “Dairy Redemption“.
Judges for the Star Prize for Digital Media were Leigh Radford from Australia and team.
